But luckily, when I moved, an opportunity for one more apprenticeship popped up.
I promised myself that this was the last time I’d do an apprenticeship.
I couldn’t keep working for free forever.
But instead of breezing through like I hoped I would because I already had been taught how to tattoo…
My mentor told me that everything my previous mentor had taught me about tattooing… Was wrong.
Now, I not only had to learn to tattoo from scratch again…
I had to spend time unlearning all the bad habits I’d built in my previous shop.
Even though the process was painstaking and slow… I learned how to tattoo the right way…
Until I was taking walk-in clients every day… And doing professional-level work.
